The property is certainly showing its age but there were two guys painting so I guess they are slowly making cosmetic improvements. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I was impressed with her level of english. I had booked a delux double room and was offered the choice of a first level room or a second level with a sea view. The room was spacious throughout. The aircon and fridge worked fine. states that the TV has cable channels. My TV had 10 channels all in bahasa. Cable TV I think not. All the channels had poor picture quality. The desk with chair and light was handy to use. The bed had clean linens and was comfortable. The balcony had a table and two chairs to relax and enjoy the sea views. A drying rack for clothes/towels would be a practical inclusion. The bathroom was essentially a wet room but large enough as not to have water everywhere. The light over the mirror in the bathroom needed repair and it was attended to promptly. The shower had hot water and good pressure. Large size pool I had all to myself. Reception provides towels for pool use. Overall, excellent location and I had a comfortable experience staying here. Staff was friendly. Pool was poorly cleaned, you couldnt even see the bottom of it. They offered scooter rent for 100 per day which is way more than average price70-85k. So we rented scooter near hotel 100m from cottages for 75k per night. The rooms are a little dated but they are quite large and you can enjoy an exceptional view from the veranda. Very nice and helpful staff. The bungalows are spacious and I had one with a king size bed. But it needs more than just a little TLC to bring it up to a basic standard for international travellers who want reasonable accommodation for a reasonable price, starting with the pool which is one of the best sized pools in the Senggigi area. If you can go without a decent wifi and tv and turn a blind eye to simple things like chair cushions falling apart then Puri Bunga is well located opposite the Art Market and some lovely beach-side restaurants. Really, i find it superb from the geographical point of view, its rooms offering a panoramic view of the sea and an extraordinary sunset. it has a beautiful and large swimming pool in addition to senggigi beach located a few meters from the hotel. The breakfast is generous and the service is excellent. The staff at the establishment are very nice and really helpful. Bad WIFI not working in the rooms. I have stayed 2 nights before trekking and then afterwards 1 more night at this place. This last night was the worst ever! I have checked in at around 2pm, the room boy brought my big backpack to the room and then I stored my small backpack in the closet in the room there is no safe with my money inside. I only wanted to go to the pool for 2 hours and therefore left it, as it was a freshly checked in room, no cleaning person should have gotten in. But I was wrong. After returning and opening the closet I realized that someone was at my small backpack and therefore counted my money. The staff has stolen 900,000 IDR from my wallet, but for good luck left still a lot of money inside as if I would not realize it. I talked to the manager and the staff who brought my backpack up about it. Toni/Tony is the room boy's name. I am 100% sure it was him, and you could see in his face that he was lying when we discussed the situation. The manager tried to be nice though was totally not able to find any solution poor management skills. He did not even repayed me the night to make the situation anyhow better. He said that he had the same feeling and he also believes that it was Toni. As I needed to leave for my shuttle I did not got any money back. Super bad service and lying staff! I first liked the place that's why I got back, but it was the worst decision ever. The lighting in the room was so poor you cannot read at night. No TV. The pool area needs a good clean up. The pool was grubby and murky. The rooms dark and small. Broken latch on the window. Good location but the road very busy with constant streams of motor bikes. The Hotel is rundown and needs a lot of maintenance. Breakfast was OK. Had to ask for toilet paper. Nice pool, but the water was a bit diety. Very nice sea view. Breakfasts looked nice, as it was a buffet, but the food could have been better. With a panoramic ocean view, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, large swimming pool gives you the pleasure of swimming.
